Alright, time to pimp a band that really deserves it.
Force Fed Lies is a hardcore band based out of Charlestown, MA. My introduction to them was through their guitarist and my friend/co-worker Ken. I’ve been going to their shows for a while now, and even got a change to pop out to the studio when they were recording (and ended up doing Gang Vocals on the album). It’s been a blast.
They tend to bill themselves as the most metal band at a punk show, and the most punk band at a metal show, and it’s a pretty fitting description. The growling vocals are backed by a strong punk sensibility (mixed with some metal riffs) in the guitars and bass, and backed by an amazing drummer who knows how to fit their style perfectly. It’s a lot of fun to watch and shout a long to, and, if the venue allows, get a little slam dancing in.

Now that the band has a five song CD coming out (it’s currently being duplicated) they’re starting to expand the shows their playing. Somewhere in the process of all this I’ve been asked to the “unofficial official” photographer for the band. In the spirit of that, here’s some of the photos I took at their gig at Copperfield’s Bar in Boston last Friday.
